Success Story: ZCIEA PWD member scoops 2018 Harare Agricultural Show Awards

People With Disabilities (PWD) always face barriers to equal participation in all aspects of life. They are the poorest of the poor mainly due to the unfavorable economic situation and also because of the negative attitudes society continues to have towards people with disabilities. Some People with disabilities have been reduced to beggars for survival as they cannot afford basic needs, especially in the absence of a government social welfare system to provide for them. The Zimbabwe Chamber of Informal Economy Associations is playing a critical role in organising People With Disabilities and empowering them to be self-reliant. Instead of begging, Ms Sibabazo Bungano (ZCIEA member) chose to work for herself.
