ZCIEA Victoria Falls Youth Chair Nigel Tendai Chitombo Campaigns for the ratification of ILO Convention 190.

In June 2019, the International LABOUR Conference Said STOP to violence and harassment in the world of work by adopting ground-breaking International tool ILO Convention 190 and ILO Recommendation 206 on the Elimination of Violence and Harassment in the world of work. This new Convention protects all workers irrespective of their cultural status in all sectors, public and private, rural and urban, formal, and informal economy. It has a strong focus on Gender-based violence and for the first time, it includes domestic violence as an element that affects employment as well as the health and safety of workers. ILO Convention 190 provides momentum for the Trade Unions, Informal Economy Associations, and other Stakeholders to fight violence and harassment in the world of work. Let’s use it now, we need to work together so that member states RATIFY ILO Convention 190 and make it part of their national laws. Let’s campaign for the ratification of the ILO Convention 190. Together we can change lives
